About Angela Laughingheart

Angela Laughingheart Tai Chi Qigong Instruction Classes

After a knee injury curtailed my dance career, I was introduced to Taijiquan at Yang’s Martial Arts Headquarters while living in Boston in 1991. Upon returning back to my hometown of Milwaukee, I trained what I could remember, and healed my knee through the practice of Qigong.

Then I began to pursue my YMAA training as a semi-annual student in martial arts training camps in Boston, Hungary, Poland, Portugal and South Africa. My lifelong pursuit of movement for health and wellness was satisfied by the extensive array of martial art forms associated with Taijiquan. My spirit was raised and further enhanced by cultivating internal energy through the accompanying Martial Qigong training.

In 2003, I obtained certification and opened my branch School, YMAA Tai Chi Chuan of Wisconsin. In 2019, I resided at the YMAA Retreat Center in Northern California for 2.5 years, doing independent study in Taijiquan and Qigong. I am currently accepting students to join me on this journey of self awareness and unconditional tough love.
